Don said… - The thing you have to ask yourself is if the roles were reversed how would it be? It is not easy but it can be done I know for a fact , that I am fortunate and blessed to have a wife who was there for me now 8 years later I am pretty independent but some days are still hard, if you care enough it will happen it just takes time, you didnt learn to run before you walked,Chris is right about somehow finding a chance to take a breather,my wife is now in our churches Choir and it is a stress reliever for her.

It is not easy, and you just have to take a day at a time. My job is one where the stress level is high, so that part I am used to. But this being so personal, hitting at the heart, that is the hard part. Hang in there.

- As difficult as stroke recovery is for the survivor, I really believe it's harder on the primary caregiver, especially if you don't have a lot of physical and emotional support. Try to grab your moments of peace when you can and don't be shy about venting when you need to. It's just too much to carry alone.

caregivers or not
do any of you know of a caregiver, who happens to be around age 33 or so, that has 2 small children, that's spouse has had a left hemo stoke that has paralysis and total espressive/ receptive language impairments along with apraxia?
