Hi Sharon, the gov't and hospitals appear to be run by insurance companies that dictate how long a person can stay and what extras they can have. Keep venting maybee they'll read it.

WHO ARE WE?...STROKE SURVIVORS AND CARE GIVERS

.WHO ARE WE?.

by Peter V Cornelis We are one in 4.8 million survivors just in the USA and millions of others around the world, we are not alone. We may have difficulty walking or talking. Our vision or thoughts may be impaired. Our arms, hands and fingers may not work the way they used to. We may not be what other people consider normal. But what we are is a group of people, that if "normal people had to endure what the stroke survivor does, on a daily basis, the normal people may not be able… Continue

For the Stroke Survivor

WHAT HAPPENED TO ME?

If you need to apply for SSI disability go to http://www.ssa.gov/d&s1.htm

1.)In seconds our entire life has changed!

In that whirling confusing time that our stroke actually happens, we can, for months try to figure out what happened to us. Somewhere between the flashing red lights and where you may be now we ask the question, what happened to me?

Here is what happened: You either had what's called a red stroke or a white stroke or a Hemorrhagic or Ischemic str

SIRAS ETAR BESANAR ONAIM PERANTES RESONASTOS CERITOP PERSINOX OTTARIM. LATIN PARRELISM MEANS "I am the light of the world, I Shall not Walk in Darkness, but have the Light of Life." My Father died July 17, 2009 but I hold no one accountable. Just read the short Essay of Mark Twain. Maybe you will see yourself as the character trying to point out that we are all living clay statues that mean more than just nobleman and woman. Pity talk. I do not think so. Read John 8:12 or Aliester Crowley when he was not induced. K.L.

i feel blessed to be here and fortunate enough to be able to raise my kids although i do still have two teenagers to finish raising, but all in all I'm in a better place..my story has many emotions i went threw as i know we all have,,from anger, bitterness depression, to feeling sorry for myself, shaking that off and learning to accept and move on. and just being thankful, far worse could have happened to be.i get angry at times when i have to explain how or why i was unable to work for so long, that issue still bothers me as my career was put on hold and i thought it would never be fulfilled. my work was done at home and as time went by i managed to get a few certifications in the health care field and Ive been happy with that and working with Pt's and the elderly folks in nursing homes and hospitals and their homes, many whom was stroke victims themselves, i love working with them as i was,is,one of them. i will be continuing my education in the nursing field this fall 09 or spring 10 if i can meet the deadline of enrollment, wish me luck : )
thanks again for the warm welcome peter

The six vocals are by a duo my daughter set up to travel to India to do a gig in a 5 star hotel in Hyderabad. The first three, Sarah is the lead vocal, the next three my daughter is the lead vocal. Music has always been a part of my family, from when I was a small child my mother always sang to us, and I did the same with my children. On long car trips we all sang songs, beats, are we there yet, and video games.
Those songs from my daughter are a little bit old now, she is actually much better now.
I have been known to sing the odd song in public, I have a video of me in a show that we performed in our valley outside Coffs Harbour, to raise money for our school, I will post it if that is alright.
I tried to start a forum about Oliver Sacks and his ideas and research regarding music in post stroke victims, but it was deleted. I thought others may be interested in the role music plays in post stroke, and have their own ideas on the subject.
