Not only am I going through this stroke but, Im uninsured also. Saw my neuro today and hes sending me to a pain specialist. Thats what im upset with is hes been treating me for the whole time and now he deciedes to do send me there. This is so so overwhelming.

i to, am uninsured i only seeen a neuro once since my stroke i had my stroke 08/09 i have to say, i really am lucky im walking wiyhout a cane just joined a gym today dont get discouraged.it will comeback along with ambition, i to felt helplesss i thonk the worse of it is anxiety and depression if i can beat it anyone can good luck to you

Hi Christopher.

I know how overwhelming the process can be. I'm a 38 year old single mom who had a stroke when I was 32 weeks pregnant in Febryary 2009. Today I finally received a confirmed diagnosis that it was a stroke (after 3 months!)

I get scared too as I don't understand everything that's going on and I worry about what's going on. I have symptoms, such as tingling and swelling, that they don't know if it'll ever go away. Today I received medication for the first time. Hopefully that will help.

I understand the frustration with your doctor. I got a 2nd opinion and now am going for a 3rd.

What type of pain do you have? Just hang in there and talk about your frustrations and emotions with friends or here in the support group. If nothing else, at least you can vent your frustrations.
